Being a missionary is something very special, and blessed. So it has always been and still is today. Yesterday's missionaries often had to make difficult and lengthy journeys, with very small resources, to countries where the needs were huge, where language and cultural difficulties were enormous – and then stay there for the rest of their lives.
Today, the external conditions are a little different. We can reach the most remote places of the world in around 24 hrs. It’s quite obvious,   that our time is the time of great opportunity in the area of missions.
That the external conditions are better does not, however, mean that the missionary calling is easy today. There is always a cross to bear when you follow Jesus.
Therefore, we must do everything we can to encourage, bless, support and pray for our missionaries. We must faithfully support them with our resources, so that what they harvest does not rot before their eyes due to the lack of funds to take care of it.
