  Uppdatering om ps Janne

  Kära vänner!

    Inför gudstjänsten den andra advent fick församlingen en första videohälsning från pastor Janne, en efterlängtad hälsning som gav mycket glädje och tacksamhet till oss alla. Pastor Janne är fortsatt på sjukhus där han rehabiliteras. I hälsningen uttrycker pastor Janne en stor tacksamhet för all den kärlek han och hans familj mött genom det stora böne-engagemang som funnits i församlingen, men också bland så många kristna i andra sammanhang och ut över världen. Han berättar om hur förbönen lyft honom i den situation han varit i sedan olyckan och hur Herren är honom nära och hjälper honom på alla sätt. Han ber för oss alla, både som församling, men också för oss som enskilda församlingsmedlemmar. Janne berättar om hur han mitt i den svåra period han haft, har känt en så stark kärlek till Jesus och hur glädjen och styrkan funnits där mitt i det svåra. Han delar om hur förbönen kommit starkt, ibland mitt i natten, för evangelisationen, missionen och för vår framtid. Han talar om tron på ett nytt år av nåd och framgång under 2023 där vi får bygga församlingen tillsammans och uttryckte även sin förväntan över att få komma till församlingen och dela en god kärleksfull predikan som Herre lagt på hans hjärta. Hälsningen avslutas med dessa värmande ord: ”Gud välsigne er alla och tack för att ni är de underbara, fantastiska, fina människor ni är, som älskar mig och där jag också får älska er tillbaka och uttrycka min bön och kärlek till er. Gud välsigne er alla och ha en fantastiskt fin adventsgudstjänst. Tack för att ni är dem ni är.”   🙏🏼Be gärna om full hälsa till hela hans kropp!   ______   27/10 - 2022 Hej vänner!   Vi har glädjande nyheter gällande vår älskade pastor Janne Blom. Vi, Simon och Sebastian, har nu besökt Janne. Han har nyligen kommit in i ett nytt läge då hans tillstånd förbättras avsevärt. Janne kan nu tala tydligt och klart samt föra längre sammanhängande resonemang. Han har ingen minnesbild av olyckan, upprepar sig lite och har ibland svårt att kom ihåg namn. Det är fortsatt en lång rehabilitering på sjukhuset som ligger framför i det naturliga, så fortsätt att be för pastor Janne och hela familjen. Samtalet med honom genomsyrades av kärleken och omsorgen om församlingen. Han ber för oss alla! Janne är också så tacksam för alla böner från församlingen samt Kristi kropp i Sverige och över världen.   I nuläget är det familjen och ett fåtal av församlingens pastorer som besöker pastor Janne.   Update on Pastor Janne

  Dear friends!

  During the second Advent Service, the church received the first video greeting from Pastor Janne. This was a long-awaited greeting that brought joy and thankfulness to us all. Pastor Janne is still in the hospital where he continues his rehabilitation. In the greeting, Pastor Janne expressed great thankfulness for all the love he and his family has experienced - especially through the outpouring of prayer that has been in the church and spread throughout many places over the entire world. He shared how the intercession has lifted him during the situation he has been in since the accident and how the Lord is so close to him and helping him. He is praying for us all, both the church in general but also each individual member of the church. Janne spoke of how in the middle of this difficult time, he has experienced a strong love for Jesus and how joy and strength have been constant in the hard times. He shared about how the spirit of intersession has been so strong, sometimes in the middle of the night, for evangelization, missions, and our future. Janne spoke of faith for a new year of grace and prosperity in 2023; a year we can build the church together. He expressed his desire and expectation to come and share a great sermon, filled with love, that the Lord has laid on his heart for the church. The greeting concluded with these warm words, “God bless you all and thank you that you are the wonderful, fantastic, beautiful people you are, who love me, and now I can love you back and express my love and prayers for you. God bless you all and have a wonderful Advent Service. Thank you for being who you are.”

      🙏🏼Please continue to pray for complete health for his entire body!   ___   27/10 - 2022 Hello friends! We have good news to share concerning our dear Pastor Janne. We (Simon and Sebastian), have now had the opportunity to visit Janne. He has recently entered a new phase where his condition has improved remarkably. Janne is now speaking clearly and can have lengthy coherent conversations. He doesn’t recall the accident, he repeats himself sometimes and also has a hard time remembering people's names. This will continue to be a long rehabilitation process in the hospital and we continue to pray for Pastor Janne and his entire family.  Our conversation with him was filled with love and care for the church. Janne is praying for all of us! He is so thankful for all the prayers from the church and from the body of Christ both in Sweden and over the entire world! Currently, the visitors list is limited to only a few people that includes the family and a couple of the Pastors that are allowed to visit.  Thank you for understanding that all other visitor requests are being kindly declined at this time.   Latest Update from Ukraine

  Eleven weeks into the war, the needs are still great and we work actively to deliver supplies, evacuate people and provide sleeping places around the country through our sister congregations.     We have together with several other organizations transported around 150 trucks with supplies into Ukraine through our center in Lublin. Of these, about forty have been funded through the Word of Life in collaboration with Heart of Evangelism. To ensure that deliveries reach those who really need them, we’ve had people on site to follow the entire supply chain - via Lublin and Lviv on to the most war-affected areas. Gratitude knows no bounds for those who receive these packages! The various centers around Ukraine have remained open with several hundred beds and during the day food packages are distributed with, among other things, rice, oil and preserves.   Misha and Kolya are some of the children who have had their everyday lives turned upside down by the war. Their mother is a doctor, so when many others in their vicinity fled Kyiv, their family chose to stay so that the mother could continue her work at the hospital. The boys have spent many hours in shelters, so the joy was great when they received a box with food, a few changes of clothes and a stuffed animal each.   In addition to food, we have also delivered a number of washing machines and dryers to the refugee centers in Lviv so that they no longer have to wash sheets and clothes by hand. Something that has relieved the workload a great deal as they receive new overnight people every day. Some who come to the centers have lived in shelters for several weeks in a row and only had the clothes they wore when the war arrived in their cities.     The minibuses are used daily to deliver supplies to affected areas as well as evacuating people to safer places. Many elderly and disabled people have received help to leave the most war-affected areas. The infrastructure is troubled and it is difficult to get around in large parts of the country. This means that many people are stuck in their home villages and towns without possibilities to get out of there on their own.   Also in Uppsala, we have received the first families from Ukraine. Every week we meet and pray together for Ukraine and all the people affected by the war and its aftermaths.   Together we can make a difference for our fellow human beings through prayer, gifts and practical actions.   Thank you for your prayers and gifts!   Senaste uppdateringen från Ukraina

  Elva veckor in i kriget är behoven fortsatt stora och vi jobbar aktivt med att leverera förnödenheter, evakuera människor och förmedla sovplatser runt om i landet via våra systerförsamlingar.   I skrivande stund har vi genom vårt center i Lublin, tillsammans med flera andra organisationer, förmedlat runt 150 lastbilar med förnödenheter in i Ukraina. Av dessa har ett fyrtiotal finansierats via Livets ord i samarbete med Heart of Evangelism. För att säkerställa att leveranserna når dem som verkligen behöver det har vi haft personal på plats för att följa hela leveranskedjan – via Lublin och Lviv vidare till de mest krigsdrabbade områdena. Tacksamheten vet inga gränser hos dem som tar emot paketen! De olika centren runt om i Ukraina har fortsatt öppet med flera hundra sängplatser och dagtid delas matpaket ut med bland annat ris, olja och konserver.     Utöver livsmedel har vi även levererat ett antal tvättmaskiner och torktumlare till centren i Lviv så att de inte längre behöver tvätta lakan och kläder för hand. Något som gjort stor skillnad för arbetsbelastningen då de varje dygn tar emot nya övernattande personer. En del som kommer till centren har bott i skyddsrum i flera veckor i sträck och endast haft de ombyten de hade på sig när kriget kom till deras städer.     Misha och Kolya är två av alla de barn som fått sin vardag uppochnervänd av kriget. Deras mamma är läkare, så när många andra i deras närhet flydde Kiev valde deras familj att stanna kvar så att mamman kunde fortsätta jobba på sjukhuset. Pojkarna har spenderat många timmar i skyddsrum, så glädjen var stor när de fick en banankartong med mat, några ombyten kläder och varsina gosedjur.   Minibussarna som köpts in används dagligen för att leverera förnödenheter till drabbade områden samt evakuera människor till säkrare platser. Bland annat har många äldre och funktionshindrade fått hjälp att ta sig västerut i landet. Infrastrukturen haltar och det är i stora delar av landet svårt att ta sig fram.  Det gör att många människor sitter fast i sina hembyar och städer utan möjlighet att ta sig därifrån på egen hand.    Även i Uppsala har vi fått ta emot de första familjerna från Ukraina. Varje vecka träffas de för gemenskap och för att be tillsammans för Ukraina och alla dem som drabbats av kriget och dess efterverkningar.    Tillsammans kan vi genom bön, gåvor och praktiska handlingar göra skillnad för våra medmänniskor.      Tack för dina böner och gåvor!   Ukraine: Miracles in the Middle of Chaos

  One month has passed since Russia's invasion of Ukraine and according to UNHCR, ten million Ukrainians are displaced. Of these, 3.5 million have left the country, which means we are now facing the fastest growing refugee crisis in Europe since World War II. The war has not only claimed many lives but also shattered homes, families and dreams. Infrastructure is being destroyed, delivery routes are put out of function and many are left without critical necessities such as food and medicine.   Word of Life continues to help on site. In Lublin, Poland, work continues on with organizing the warehouse, receiving supplies and delivering them to the centers in Ukraine. More vehicles have been purchased and at present there are five minivans and a car on site at the various centers. These have been donated or purchased with donated funds. Another minivan and a SUV are planned to be purchased in the coming weeks. The vehicles offer game-changing opportunities to drive in supplies to, and help people out of, the worst affected areas. Two of the minivans are used in the most dangerous parts where help otherwise could not reach.   A testimony from Yuri and Anna from Bucha outside Kyiv. “When the war came, we took shelter in a bomb shelter with approximatly 100 other people. After a while, Russian soldiers came and forced us to open the door. They took all our food and  water and held us hostage. After a couple of days, they forced us to leave the shelter. Grenades exploded and there were gunshots all around us and the group dispersed. We do not know what happened to everyone, but some of us miraculously survived and made their way through humanitarian corridors to the western parts of the country. We are now safe at the center in Zakarpatie. We went through hell and back and we realized that we were saved by God! ”   The centers inside Ukraine continue to receive refugees and provide them with home-cooked food, sleeping accommodation and support. Food is currently the biggest need as it is difficult to get hold of due to cut off infrastructure. Word of Life and our partners are therefore looking at different ways to drive food deliveries into the country. Next week, a truck with food worth SEK 400,000 will arrive in Lublin, where it will be repackaged in vehicles that can take the food across the border.   Ukraina: Flyktingar vittnar om skräck och nytt hopp

  En månad har gått sedan Rysslands invasion av Ukraina och enligt UNHCR är nu tio miljoner ukrainare på flykt. Av dessa har 3,5 miljon lämnat landet vilket innebär den snabbast växande flyktingkrisen i Europa sedan andra världskriget. Kriget har inte bara skördat många människoliv utan också förstört hem, splittrat familjer och krossat drömmar. Infrastruktur förstörs, leveransvägar sätts ur spel och många står utan det mest nödvändiga såsom mat och mediciner.   Livets ord fortsätter att hjälpa på plats. I Lublin,Polen, fortsätter arbetet med att organisera lagret, ta emot leveranser och se till att förnödenheter tar sig vidare in i Ukraina. Fler fordon har köpts in och i dagsläget finns fem minibussar och en personbil på plats vid de olika centren. Dessa har donerats eller köpts in av donerade medel till Livets ord. Ytterligare en minibuss samt en SUV planeras att köpas in. Fordonen ger helt andra möjligheter att köra in förnödenheter och hjälpa människor ut ur de värst drabbade områdena. Två av minibussarna används i de absolut farligaste delarna där hjälp annars inte når in.    Ett vittnesbörd från Yuri och Anna från Bucha utanför Kiev. “När kriget kom tog vi skydd i ett skyddsrum med ungefär 100 andra personer. Efter ett tag kom ryska soldater och tvingade oss att öppna. De tog all vår mat och vårt vatten och höll oss som gisslan. Efter ett par dagar tvingade de oss under vapenhot att lämna skyddsrummet. Det exploderade granater och sköts runt omkring oss och gruppen skingrades. Vi vet inte vad som hände med alla, men några av oss överlevde mirakulöst och tog oss genom humanitära korridorer ut till de västra delarna av landet. Vi är nu trygga på centret i Zakarpatie. Vi var i helvetet och vände och inser att det var Gud som räddade oss!”    De olika centren inne i Ukraina fortsätter att ta emot flyktingar och förser dem med lagad mat, sovplatser och stöd på olika sätt. Mat är just nu det största behovet då det är svårt att få tag på på sina håll. Livets ord och våra samarbetspartner ser därför över olika sätt att köra in matleveranser in i landet. Nästa vecka åker en lastbil med mat med värde på 400 000 kronor ner till Lublin där det packas om i fordon som kan ta maten över gränsen. Fler matleveranser kommer att behövas inom kort och dessa behöver finansiering.    Vi behöver din hjälp med finansiering av dessa livsnödvändiga leveranser!    Din gåva ger människor på flykt tak över huvudet, en säker plats att sova på och varm mat.   Ukraine: Help Reaches War Torn Areas

  The war in Ukraine is in its third week and millions of Ukrainians have fled their homes. In the midst of all the fear and devastation, we see enormous compassion and love. People have opened up their hearts and donated to those in need and families open up their homes and help with transportation and accommodation. Word of Life and the international network have the privilege of being a part of this important relief efforts. During the first week of the war, five refugee centers were opened around Ukraine. Three of them in the cities of Khmelnitskiy, Pavlograd and Lviv, are so-called transit centers where people in transit can stay on their way out of the country. Two more centers, in Lviv and Poljana, are refugee shelters where displaced people are allowed to live until further notice. A sixth shelter will soon open in Lviv. In total, these centers can accommodate about 500 people. In the first week, Word of Life donated a yellow minibus to the center in Lviv, which was filled with food and medical supplies. This was driven to the war affected areas around Kyiv to provide people with the most urgent needs. On the way back to Lviv, the minibus was filled with people who had no other transport out of the war zone. In Lublin, Poland, we have opened five centers that together have 250 beds. We have acquired a large warehouse where we can receive trucks with supplies from all over Europe. There is a great need for both food and medical supplies and already in the second week of the war, Word of Life, in collaboration with Heart of Evangelism, sent a truck with food into Ukraine via Lublin. Via Heart of Evangelism, Apotea - a Swedish pharmacy company, will also send three trucks with medical supplies. In addition to the need for food, there is also a great need for transport of people out of Ukraine. We have therefore bought two minibusses to be able to bring supplies into Ukraine and people out of the country. A process is also underway to buy more mini buses and cars in order to be able to operate as efficiently as possible. Word of Life also works in Moldova, where the local church has engaged volunteers to help Ukrainian refugees cross the border. So far, a few hundred people have been helped with accommodation in Moldova and others have been helped to move on to Romania and Italy, among other places. For the funds Word of Life sends, they also hand out food packages, hygiene items and charge prepaid cards so that families can keep in touch with each other. Volunteers who travel back and forth across the border to help people out of Ukraine receive grants for fuel. On site, at the Polish-Ukrainian border, Toni Gadd is responsible for logistics with needs and transport. It is a lot of work to coordinate all the deliveries to Poland and further into Ukraine. The situation in Ukraine is changing from day to day and therefore we monitor the situation closely and adapt our work to the needs that exist. The shelters are filled with people of all ages, expressing heartfelt gratitude to each person who has made a safe shelter a reality. The gift of a warm meal and safe place to sleep is a true gift to hundreds of displaced people. All this is possible thanks to the generous gifts from people and organizations across the globe!   Ukraina: Hjälpen kommer fram

  Kriget i Ukraina är inne på sin tredje vecka och miljoner ukrainare har flytt sina hem. Mitt i all skräck och förödelse ser vi en enorm medmänsklighet och kärlek. Människor sluter upp och ger stora gåvor för dem som är i nöd, familjer öppnar upp sina hem och hjälper till med transporter och logi. Livets Ord och vårt nätverk har förmånen att få vara en del av detta. Under krigets första vecka öppnades fem center för flyktingmottagande runt om i Ukraina. Tre av dem, i städerna Khmelnitsky, Pavlograd och Lviv, är så kallade transit center där människor på genomresa får bo i väntan på att ta sig vidare ut ur Ukraina. Ytterligare två center, i Lviv och Poljana, är flyktingcenter där internflyktingar får bo tills vidare. Ett sjätte center öppnar snart i Lviv. Sammanlagt kan dessa center ta emot ca 500 personer.  Första veckan köpte Livets Ord en gul minibuss till centret i Lviv som fylldes med mat och sjukvårdsmaterial. Denna kördes av en av de ukrainska församlingsmedlemmarna till de krigsdrabbade områdena runt Kiev för att förse människor med det mest akuta. På vägen tillbaka till Lviv tog han med sig människor som inte hade annan transport ut ur krigszonen. I Lublin, Polen, har vi tillsammans med den lokala församlingen och Heart of Evangelism öppnat upp fem stycken center som tillsammans har 250 sängplatser. Vi har även fått tag på en stor lagerlokal där vi kan ta emot lastbilar med förnödenheter. Det finns ett stort behov av både mat och sjukvårdsmaterial och redan andra veckan av kriget skickade Livets Ord, i samarbete med Heart of Evangelism, en lastbil med mat in till Ukraina via Lublin. Via Heart of Evangelism kommer Apotea även att skicka tre lastbilar med sjukvårdsmaterial. Förutom behov av mat finns även ett stort behov av transport för människor ut ur Ukraina. Vi har därför köpt två minibussar för att kunna föra förnödenheter in i Ukraina och människor ut ur landet. Det pågår även en process att köpa fler minibussar och bilar för att kunna operera så effektivt som möjligt.  Livets Ord arbetar även i Moldavien där den lokala församlingen har engagerat volontärer som hjälper ukrainska flyktingar att ta sig över gränsen. Hittills har man hjälpt några hundra personer med logi i Moldavien samt hjälpt andra att ta sig vidare till bland annat Rumänien och Italien. För medlen Livets Ord skickar ner delar man även ut matpaket, hygienartiklar och laddar kontantkort så att familjerna kan hålla kontakt med varandra.  Volontärer som åker fram och tillbaka över gränsen för att hjälpa människor ut ur Ukraina får bidrag för drivmedel.  På plats vid den polsk-ukrainska gränsen ansvarar Toni Gadd för logistiken med behov och transporter. Det är mycket arbete med att koordinera alla leveranser till Polen och vidare in i Ukraina. Läget i Ukraina förändras från dag till dag och därför bevakar vi situationen noggrant och anpassar vårt arbete efter de behov som finns.  Allt detta är möjligt tack vare de generösa gåvor ni ger!   Let’s help the people of Ukraine

  After more than six years of conflict in eastern Ukraine, 3.4 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance – 60 percent of them are women and children. Approximately 1.6 million people have been forced from their homes and tens of thousands of civilians have been killed or wounded. After the Russian attack on Ukraine in February 2022, crowds of refugees started to move from the east of Ukraine to the west, escaping the invasion and the bloodshed but without a place to go for shelter. Word of Life has long-standing relationships with Ukraine since the 1990s. Our 80+ Ukrainian Word of Life churches are now mobilizing a massive support to reach out and help the refugees. They are moving fast and coordinated, having worked with refugee relief in the occupied areas of Ukraine since 2014. We are now preparing refugee shelters and humanitarian support in five cities in Ukraine: Kyiv, Lviv, Dobropillia, Pavlograd, and Khmelnytskyi. There we are distributing food, clothes, medical help and God’s love, to all who had to leave everything behind and run for their lives. You can be a part of helping them! 1. Pray that the light of Jesus will pierce through the darkness of this horrible tragedy. 2. Support the refugee centers financially • $50 can provide 10 warm, cozy blankets to families affected by conflict • $100 helps supply a month’s worth of nutritious food to a family in crisis • $175 can provide five families with emergency shelter materials 3. An Exit Fund At the moment several nations in Europe are mobilizing to receive refugees from Ukraine. We have churches in several of them that are ready and willing to help with accomodation and more that is needed. Refugees will probably start coming to Sweden soon as well. In any case, we want to be prepared for this and for when people arrive as refugees from Ukraine. When this happens, we want to take them first to Poland, where they can be directly connected to our local churches. There, they will be welcomed and loved. Estimated costs for this are still unclear and can be high if the war is prolonged. Any funds given for this purpose will be held in the Fund and used directly for this purpose when the borders open up.
