Do You Need Jesus?

If you want to take this step toward Jesus right where you are, you can, for example, pray this prayer aloud. The words in the prayer are not magical, but if you pray them and mean what you say, Jesus will hear you. And something completely new will begin in your life.

‘If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.’
– Romans 10:9

Prayer:
Jesus, I need you. I have gone my own way and drifted away from you. But I believe that you died for me and rose again, for my sake. Now I open the door of my heart to you and say yes to what you have done for me. Forgive me for my sins and help me to live for you. Jesus, you are my Lord, here and now, and for the rest of my life. Thank you for receiving me right now and making me a child of God. Amen.

If you prayed this prayer and truly meant what you said, something entirely new has begun! You have said yes to what Jesus has already done for you, and you have become a child of God. What happened when you prayed is not about feelings or experiences – God has promised that He hears us when we pray and accepts us as His children, His sons and daughters.

‘I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.’
– 1 John 5:12

What Happens Now?

Congratulations on your decision to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior! This is undoubtedly the best and most important decision of your life.

A life with Jesus is a relationship. He wants you to get to know Him, He wants to speak to you, and He wants to listen to you.

The Bible. He wants to speak to you, and He does so primarily through the Bible. It is not just any book, but the most important tool you have been given to build a personal relationship with God.

Prayer. He wants to listen to you – that’s what prayer is. It’s when you shape words in your heart to Him. He longs for you to share your heart with Him.

The Church. When you receive Jesus, you become a child of God and a part of God’s big family. All over the world, those who belong to God’s family gather every week, usually on Sundays, in local churches to fellowship with Jesus and each other.
